Puddle jumping into Spring with Haley, Nick, and Remy
As Wisconsin engagement photographers, we’ve explored endless intimate locations for Stevens Point photo sessions. And let’s be honest, we couldn’t ask for a more perfect area to search! From the sky-high trees to the babbling, joyful water of the Plover River, Stevens Point has it all! But when Nick and Haley told us they wanted to explore a stellar outdoor location with plenty of room for their pup, Remy, to stretch his legs, we know exactly where to take them for the session of their dreams: Iverson Park!
Iverson Park is a historical, recreational park in the heart of Wisconsin. It’s been a stunning go-to location since the early 1900’s when it was first developed. I first discovered Iverson Park when I was wee girl (literally!) My (Olivia) earliest memory is of this green Eden is of crayfish scouting on the rocky outcrops. To this day, the crayfish scurry around, peeking in and out of water-smoothed rocks. Over the years, we’ve had many trips to the park- some days to play on the sandy beach and other times to hike along the wooded trails or lounge in the deep, rich grasses. With all of these dynamic mini locations around the park, we knew right away that we had to bring a gorgeous couple and a camera here, ASAP! And this timeless, unaffected, and serene spot, especially in early spring, was the perfect backdrop for Haley and Nick’s love story!
The cheery babbling of the Plover River gave the whole session a light, romantic feel, and the warm spring sun added a sprinkle of joy. While we're sure Haley and Nick could take incredible photos in a high school gym, a setting like this one didn’t hurt!
We also loved the way they dressed to complement their location and the spring season. We always advise couple to dress in ways that feel like them, and also give them a confidence boost! We also advise that couples look up images of their session location beforehand to ensure perfect color choices, and these two definitely choose wisely! Nick’s classy sweater blended perfectly with the melting spring snow, and Haley’s warm ivory cardigan beautifully completed the look!
Finding the perfect spot to take couple’s photos isn’t always easy, but Iverson Park is a sunny Stevens Point haven that we’ll be returning to over and over again! Congratulations Nick and Haley, and we wish you and Remy the pup all of the happiest adventures.
